After the Olympics, ‘the’ sailing event of the year is fast approaching : ‘The Vendée Globe’ round the world race will see ships set sail from Les Sables d’Olonne on the 10th of November. It really is ‘entente cordiale’ as there will be an English skipper in this year’s challenge and her name is Sam!  This is Sam Davies’ second attempt at the Globe and I am sure she will do well, after all she has a winning name!
