How to get to the Pays de la Loire?
The Pays de la Loire is easy to get to by car, train and plane. The motorway network covers the whole area. High-speed trains run on a daily basis from Paris, Lille and Lyon to the major towns in the Pays de la Loire. Nantes and Angers airports have direct internal and international flights.
Where to go?
The Pays de la Loire region includes 5 'départements': the Loire-Atlantique and the Vendée are both along the coast, and further inland, are the Mayenne , the Maine-et-Loire (also known as the Anjou ) and the Sarthe .
The region has 450km of coastline , including 210km of beautiful beaches .
Vineyards and châteaux stretch out on either side of the Loire, from Nantes to Saumur.
The Pays de la Loire is ideal for cycling, there are over 2500km of safe and signposted cycle routes across the region. It is also a top golfing destination with 32 different courses.
The award winning Puy du Fou theme park is a must, and the Giant Elephant at Les Machines de l'Ile in Nantes is worth seeing.
