Departure of the 'Vendée Globe’ 02.10.2016

The Vendée Globe  round the world race will see skippers set sail from Les Sables d’Olonne on the 6th of November 2016. 

It’s the only race around the world which is solo, nonstop and unassisted. Skippers cross the globe from East to West via the Cape of Good Hope and the mythical Cape Horn. 24,000 miles, or nearly 45 000 km of navigation, and nearly 3 months at sea for the fastest boats.

> 15th October 2016 : Opening of the Vendée Globe village at Les Sables-d’Olonne for the start of the race. 
> 6th November : Departure of the Vendée Globe 2016-2017
