Discovering French vineyards: 5 destinations in Pays de la Loire recognised as ‘Vignobles et Découvertes’

Back in 2009, the French government launched the Vignobles et Découvertes scheme, aimed at visitors, who are particularly interested in wine. Now the Pays de la Loire has five areas that have this “label”: Vallée du Loir (Loir Valley), Muscadet Loire Océan (the Muscadet region), Saumur Val de Loire (around Saumur), Angers Loire Valley and Vallée du Layon (the Layon Valley).

This is where you will find quality wine tours, with vineyard and cellar tours and also tastings. The label guarantees that the Pays de la Loire is one of France’s leading destinations for wine tourism. They offer accommodation, cultural sites, activities and recreation, visits to wineries and restaurants.
