Cholet 30.10.2016

Cholet, near Angers, known as the ‘ville des mouchoirs’ (city of handkerchiefs)'s history has evolved with the textile industry.

Cholet has paid tribute to its heritage by turning a handsome old brick laundry into a museum: Musée du textile et de la mode . The Musée des Métiers de la Chaussure (shoemaking-trade museum), featuring more than 1,000 models of footwear, is another worthwhile stop. As for the Musée d’Art et d’Histoire, it reminds us of wars that Vendée has endured.

Cholet is popular for it's factory outlets selling marked-down designer wear: Marques Avenue , a large shopping complex housing more than 80 well-known brands for men, women, children, shoes, sportswear…

Glisseo, a vast venue for anyone who enjoys water sports and attractions, is another must-see downtown.
