La Faute-sur-Mer is located in the heart of the Baie de l’Aiguillon and is specialised in oyster breeding and so called "bouchot" mussels, genuine treats for gourmets. Sea enthusiasts are invited to explore the fishing port, departure point for activities such as sea excursions and fishing trips. Nature lovers, will find their bliss in walking through the holm oak and pine forests covering an area larger than 200 hectares. Another emblematic site is the Pointe d’Arçay, a bird sanctuary.

L’Aiguillon sur Mer, a small and picturesque fishing port, has been able to preserve much of its original authenticity.
