The Vélo Francette 24.04.2016

The 'Vélo Francette' is a 615km-long cycle route, that links Ouistreham to La Rochelle, via the Pays de la Loire.

The route is fully signposted and crosses 7 departments: Calvados and Orne in Normandy, Mayenne , Maine-et-Loire and Vendée in the Pays de la Loire, Deux-Sèvres and Charente-Maritime in Aquitaine-Limousin-Poitou-Charentes.

It takes in natural heritage and historical sites, and often follows rivers. It starts off crossing hilly landscape in Normandy, then follows the towpaths in Mayenne, goes past the Loire Valley Châteaux and the Poitou marshes and ends in La Rochelle.
