Island of Noirmoutier 24.07.2016

This peninsula is famous for its temperate climate, golden sandy beaches, pine forests and pale blue salt marshes. It is easily accessible via the legendary Passage du Gois and a toll-free bridge.

The Island of Noimoutier's coastline is both rocky and sandy with some 40 km of beautiful beaches. This sandy landscape is littered with mills, mimosas, small woods, inlets, quaint ports and old sailing ships. It is ideal to visit by bike. Noirmoutier also has several oyster farms and its salt marshes brim with life.

Coarse sea salt, fleur de sel and Salicornia (grass wort) are ‘must buys’ while visiting the Island of Noirmoutier.
