Cholet has paid tribute to its heritage by turning a handsome old brick laundry into a museum. The more classic Musée d’Art et d’Histoire reminds us of wars that Vendée has endured. But this city has its finger on the pulse. A ‘must see’ for all fashionistas is the ready-to-wear hotspot with factory outlets selling marked-down designer wear. Don’t miss Marques Avenue, a large complex housing more than 80 well-known brands for men, women, children, shoes, sportswear…. Glisseo, a vast venue for anyone who enjoys water sports and attractions, is another must-see downtown.
